I haven’t really determined a budget this year for my Black Friday shopping trip. I usually spend a few hundred dollars and anticipate doing the same this year, perhaps more of I can find a good deal on a 1080p HDTV.

My wish list:

1080p HDTV – Under $600 would be ideal, if I can’t find one for that price I can always wait because LCD prices continue to drop each year.

MP3 Player headphones – I accidentally broke my portable headphones so I need a replacement pair. Anyone who knows me knows I will need to find a very high end pair to go with my full-size Sennheiser pro headphones. As of yet I haven’t seen any of these kind of headphones advertised for Black Friday.

Blu Ray Movies – Now that I have my PS3 on the way, I will need some movies to watch so I will be hitting up Walmart’s selection of Blu Ray movies for $15 and Circuit City for $9-12.

PS3 Games – Need to get some games as well. Walmart is offering select titles for $10 & $30 each and Best Buy for $20 each.

Winter Jacket – Walmart appears to have jackets for only $8. I’m not sure what the selection or quality will be like, but it will be worth a look.

I’m sure I will find other items of interest once I get into the stores, but these are the key things I’ll be looking for. Be sure to check out the Walmart Black Friday post I made yesterday if you haven’t done so already. The best deals are going to be at Walmart, as usual.

google_ad_height = 60;
// -->

HD Televisions

Blu-ray – GPS – Digital Camera

$128 is a great price for a Blu-Ray player. I opted to purchase a Playstation 3 recently that I will use as my primary Blu-Ray player. I was able to purchase a brand new PS3 for UNDER $250 with no catch! I’ll be sharing with you how I did it in a later post, so keep checking back.

Computer – Printer – USB Drive

This computer would be a great gift for a student, although I will warn you that each store will have a VERY limited quantity of this item available. Typically fewer than 10 or 20 will be sold depending on the annual sales volume of your local Walmart. People have typically begun camping out the night before for computers on Black Friday. I will be picking up one of the 4GB flash drives for $9 though.

The Xbox 360 Arcade is listed at regular retail price, but includes a free Guitar Hero 3 game and guitar, a $75 value. Personally, I wouldn’t want the “Arcade” version of the Xbox 360 because of its limited features but this could make a great gift for younger kids who are not hardcore gamers.

Video Games

American Express is home to probably one of the most exclusive and sought after Charge Cards in existence, the Centurion Card – commonly referred to as a black credit card. I really didn’t know all the details about the card until I happened to find a blog dedicated to the American Express Centurion Card. It turns out a lot more people have the card than I thought and its level of exclusivity has fallen since Amex has begun allowing current cardholders to request an upgrade to Centurion.

John Chow just did a feature of a 21 year old Centurion Card holder Neil Patel. The difference about Neil’s card is that he doesn’t pay the $5000 initiation fee, $2,500 annual fee or the monthly charges he racks up. They are paid for in full by the company who’s board Neil sits on. That is one great perk!

The qualifications, for those of you striving to get a Centurion Card, are being an American Express cardholder for at least one year and charging an average of $250,000 annually to your card(s). Beyond that, the only thing standing in your way is a phone call to Amex to request the upgrade to Centurion and the fees associated with your new card.

Many Centurion cardholders have stated that the level of service they receive is not on-par with the expectations American Express sets forth in its marketing materials and that the perks associated with the card are more for show than any utilitarian value. I wouldn’t mind having that personal concierge to get me into sold out shows, sporting events and high end restaurants without a reservation – but I don’t live that lifestyle at the moment so it’s a moot point.

For those of you who don’t quite qualify for the Centurion Card, go to InstantCredit.cc to find a card suitable for your needs.

[tags]american express, black card, centurion card, amex, shaun carter, annual fee, platinum card, gold card, no limit, john chow, neil patel[/tags]

That is the extent of the items that I may be interested in, primarily electronics and movies. There will also be secret sale items being announced periodically throughout the weekend by e-mail or text messages.

When you pick up the Black Friday sales flyer, there is a coupon on the back for those who use their Wal-Mart credit card. It offers no interest for 18 months on purchases of $250 or more. Your purchase would be limited to whatever Wal-Mart determines your credit limit to be, so if you decide to sign up they will just need your drivers license and a current credit card. Give them the card with the highest limit to better your chances for a high limit Wal-Mart card as well.

Happy Shopping!

This coming week kicks off the holiday shopping season for 2007 and retailers across the country are preparing for all out war on Friday, the first day after Thanksgiving. I plan to be out in the trenches Friday morning to see what kind of deals I can pick up. Most retailers aren’t posting their sales circulars until later in the week, but you can find most of them have leaked onto various Black Friday websites. One notable exception is Wal-Mart, who had their legal firm send out preemptive threats to all the Black Friday websites warning them not to post any Wal-Mart ads before the company releases it or face litigation.

Well, with a little bit of ingenuity I was able to track down a leaked Wal-Mart circular and taken a look at some of the deals inside which I’ll get to in a later post. Wal-Mart is where I usually end up on Black Friday, because they usually have the best electronics specials. I am hoping to score a high definition LCD television and an XBOX 360.

For those of you that are not interested in fighting off kung-fu trained mothers at your local retailer, many online retailers are offering special limited quantity sales.

Amazon is currently letting users vote on what holiday deals they would like best, and the prices are great. Here’s a list of some of the items up for grabs:

1,000 Nintendo Wii Game Systems (see prices on Customers Vote page)

500 Panasonic 7.5MP Digital SLR Cameras, $499 (*normally $1,149.95)

1,000 Razor E100 Electric Scooters for $29 (*normally $89.99)

500 TiVo HD Digital Video Recorders, $89 (*normally $253.48)

500 Magellan Maestro 3140 Portable Auto GPS Systems, $99 (*normally $247.00)

200 Samsung 46” 1080p LCD HDTVs, $719 (*normally $1,899.98)

Amazon will be randomly selecting registered shopper between November 22 and 28 to buy the items above (as well as many others) at the super reduced prices. So head over there and get signed up.

I have added a widget on the sidebar that will display the latest and greatest deals this holiday shopping season so you can take advantage when a good one shows up.

So here I’ll begin to break down my wish list after I work my way to dot Com Riches. Today I’ll talk about the first item on the list, The Ferrari.

I’ve had a fascination with Ferraris for quite a long time, they appear sleek and sexy and are handmade in Italy. As opposed to the boxy looking Lamborghini, the Ferrari’s smooth, flowing lines are very fluid and awe inspiring.

The pricetag on a new Ferrari runs around $200,000, although a slightly pre-owned Ferrari can be had for under $100,000. Here’s a few examples of what I would like to have sitting in my driveway.

Ferrari F430 Convertible

Ferrari 360 Modena

Ferrari Testarossa (and the house behind it!)

What is your dream car?
