I was fortunate to attend the Eminem & Jay Z concert at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan on Friday September 3rd and had an absolutely fantastic time! The stage was enormous and was made up of five giant screens that displayed montages and live video of the performers.

B.O.B. went on stage at 7:30pm and Eminem didn’t conclude his encore until 12:15am, making this a whopper of a concert! I definitely got my money’s worth on this one. I am not as much of a Jay-Z fan, despite sharing his given name, but his opening set was incredible and had the crowd on its feet from the moment he entered the stage.

Eminem’s set included performances by Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, D-12, G-Unit and B.O.B. and covered his repertoire from “My Name Is” to “Love the Way You Lie”.

I was able to take some pictures and video with my new Droid X and got some decent shots. I really wish I was taller because I would have sprung for the $250 VIP tickets that gave access to the very front of the stage. But, being only 5’9″ I would have been swallowed whole in the General Admission section! This concert attracted more than 40,000 people! A very rare occurrence for a rap concert.

If I could, I would head to NYC and catch the second leg of the tour at Yankee Stadium.
