My Michigan Apple Pie
I picked up a bunch of Michigan apples from the store yesterday. One of the perks of living in West Michigan is the wonderful produce, particularly blueberries and apples that are grown all over the area. I decided this year to attempt making an apple pie from scratch with all the apples I bought. As it turns out I have a lot still left over so I think I’ll be making more pies for relatives and neighbors in the coming days.
Here’s a picture of my creation. It tasted pretty darn good and I made up the recipe on the fly. The filling was a combination of seven cups of apples, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and a little flour to thicken the mix. Then I let it cook on the stove for about five minutes before being baked in the oven for an hour.

Nice looking pie. Very impressive for being from scratch. I’ve never attempted a pie but I make some really good Lasagna. You should try to make a blueberry one in the summer.
